The Tapers Section is a show dedicated to live music recording. Most notably in the Jam Band circuit; with somewhat of a focus on shows recorded in and around the Charleston area. The latter portion of the show is devoted to local artists and their live performances.

This week on the Tapers Section is the first week of a two week tribute to the late Richard "Dickey" Betts of the Allman Brothers Band. We lost Dickey last week so I put these tracks together in remembrance. One of the important things about Dickey is not so much his music and its impact (Which is profound by the way) but more the influence Dickey had on other guitarists. He had a profound effect on other musicians and droves of guitarists, particularly in the JamBand scene, list Dickey high on their list of influences. As always, I lean heavily on local Charleston artists and performances. And I'll be back next week with another show…
